It’s the mission of every musician who is trying to make a living making music to convert “passers by” into fans. If someone runs across your video on YouTube, having more information there about who you are, what your all about, and where to find more of you could cause them to look up your Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc.
Branding
Being able to throw your logo into the mix is quite an advantage. Also, adding a photo of yourself makes you more approachable and likeable because they can see you, and that creates a more solid connection to you as a person, and not the magical entity that is “artist”.
